Using Coupons
Lately I have found using coupons to be a huge hassle and has become somewhat of a burden. Although I do love saving money using coupons every grocery trip, it has become quite clear that cashiers and managers either don't like the boom of coupons, or just don't like scanning a few extra items to satisfy the customer. I find that in general I save anywhere from $45 to $150 dollars per trip when I use coupons, but the terror of going through checkout is almost ridiculous. In order to successfully use coupons you have to hope that the cashier is going to be nice and help you save money, trusting that you have correct coupons with your items, and you have to hope that there won't be any altercations with the managers or cashiers. Shows like Extreme Couponing are a little bit ridiculous. Yes, you can save tons of money by using coupons but, every store has their own coupon policy along with how many coupons you can use in one transaction, and many times will not let you do more than one transaction. I think that the show has kind of ruined couponing for people and it has definitely made it more of a hassle than a hope for saving money at the grocery store.
